Wow

Well, I'm not doing so well at keeping this updated. Things are insanely busy around here.

Lemuel is liking 4th grade so far, but hates division. She's still struggling with multiplication, so we're having a hard time with this. She can do the math, but they have a lot of times tests, and she can't ever finish on time. We're looking into the Math Monkey enrichment program. Hopefully that works out.

Soccer season has started, and they've had 2 games so far. They lost both, but played well and had fun. Lemuel is playing defense this year, and is very good as goalie and not bad as a fullback. One of their coaches this year has some travel team coaching experience, and she's very excited about some of the drills he's working with her on.

We have some concerns about Lemuel's health. She has some stamina issues, and is is very tired all the time. They've done chest x-rays and an EKG, and didn't find anything wrong, so we're going to the pediatric cardiologist next Monday the 29th for a full work-up.

I have finals this week! I'm really nervous, but I'm sure I'll do fine.

Michael is having a lot of changes at work. They have some new clients, new equipment, new procedures... It's exciting, but stressful.

Lily and Oliver are still cute. We now have a fenced yard, and they're loving the running space. Lily is no bigger than she was 2 months ago, but her legs are twice as long. Oliver is adorable and gross, loves mud and poo, and has learned to sit. Sometimes.

Guess how many tests I had this week?

This was the most ridiculous educational week in the history of me. I'm taking 3 classes. You'd expect maybe a quiz or even 2 per class, right? Maybe a test per class? This week, I had EIGHT quizzes due today, 4 more due Friday, and this is only for 2 classes. The other class has, umm, 6 quizzes and 2 tests next week, plus 5 quizzes and 2 tests for the other 2 courses. I'm totally overwhelmed!! So I'm grumpy and no one likes me today.

Lemuel had a good day. She made bracelets at camp, and is always in a good mood after a crafty kind of day.

Lily and Oliver (or as I always call him, Loliver) are mostly housetrained. Hooray!! They ran loose for 2 hours today and nobody went in the house. Now if they'd only learn to leave the cats alone....

Soon to come - a blow-by-blow recap of the deathmatch - Julie vs back-to-school shopping!!

Back to School Time!!

Lemuel and I are both going back to school! I'm taking classes at Lanier to get my CNA, with the goal of working in hospice or Alzheimer's care. Lemuel will be starting 4th grade, believe it or not! I'm excited about myself, but it's been quite a while since I had homework and tests.

Lemuel's not so excited. Her best friend has moved this summer into a new school district. They can still play, but it isn't the same. Since they were four years old, they lived 4 houses aaway and rode the same bus. This is just a year full of changes for us.

We have an exciting school shopping trip coming up next week. Ugh.
